From Hearth to Horizons: 125 Years of the Social Science Club of Newton,
edited by Kate Stout, charts the founding and growth of one of the oldest continuously meeting women's study groups in America. Since 1886, women of the greater Boston area have been presenting research papers on topics covering the intellectual gamut.
Study and social action have defined these women, and in turn, they have helped define their respective eras.
